BTEC

Members of the Somerset Army Cadet Force have the opportunity of obtaining a high level qualification with the BTEC First Diploma in Public Services, which is the equivalent of four GCSEs at Grades A* to C.

If you are nearly 15 years old, you can get more details from either the BTEC Officer, Captain Vile, on padvile@btopenworld.com, or by speaking to your DofE Officer.

ADULT QUALIFICATIONS - LCGI

The Licentiateship of the City & Guilds of London Institute, is an NVQ Level 4 Award, which is attainable by those adults by virtue of, usually, the accreditation of their prior learning .

Somerset ACF was responsible for having this Award introduced, and it is available to all adults who are over 25 years of age.

There is a (once only) fee to be paid (about £90), and this very high grade Award carries with it the post-nominal letters LCGI, and those awarded are entitled to wear the Cap and Gown of the Institute.

Irrespective of what your current employment is, this Award will enhance your job prospects immensely.

Further details can be obtained from the Battalion Vocational Qualifications Officer Captain Peter Vile.
